First version of a model I have been working on for a while. Decided to go all in, and make this first version in some really nice materials.
Blade is a full tang, and made in Damasteel Vinland pattern (DS93x steel) heat treated to approx. 60hrc. The blade shape is with a straight back (see pictures of blade) with high flat grind bevels. Blade has been etched deep for a nice contrast in the pattern.
The handle scales are in some really nice blue stabilized Maple burl. The burl in this handle, really matches up nicely with the Vinland pattern (see pictures). Do you agree? It also has black liners on each side of the tang, and the pins are in brass.
Comes with the leather sheath pictured. It has been dyed dark brown for a subtle look and then paired with white/silver thread to make it pop and match with the knife. Made for right side carry.
This knife is made 100 percent by me, Mikkel Hvedegaard. A 24 year old knifemaker based in Denmark, just south of the city of Aarhus.
